Vita / Lebenslauf:
Andreas Paasch was born in Malchow/Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the former East Germany.
He discovered the world of photography when he was quite young. Andreas’s parents were proud owners of the famous EXA 1A camera by Pentacon, and since the age of 10 they regularly allowed him to practice with the camera.
Andreas completed a correspondence course at the Neue Kunstschule Zurich/Switzerland in 1997, and turned his focus on black and white portraits and exhibiting his work in several galleries. In January 2001, he became a direct member of the DVF (Deutscher Verband fuer Fotografie e.V.), which is the only German full member of the FIAP (Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique).
Between 2002-2006, Andreas has been working for a Swiss foundation in Luxor and Aswan (Egypt), leading the photographic documentations of archaeological excavations. Currently he is working as freelance photographer for several archaeological institutes in Egypt.
Aside from his work, Andreas still follows his general passion in photography, especially portraiture, architecture and fashion.
In 2008 he was honoured with the Bronze Award at the 5th Arabian European Photo Festival, section architecture, in Hamburg/Germany.
